Pierre-Yves Paquette

Pierre-Yves is an innovative and unconventional jeweller. He has received numerous honours, including first prize in the gold and platinum category at the Saul Bell Design Awards in 2019, a NICHE Awards trophy in 2012 and the privilege of designing the medal for the prestigious Prix du Québec in 2010. Having first studied mechanical engineering, he turned to jewellery to learn how to work with metal, a material which he finds particularly appealing. His singular style is rooted in the ancestral Japanese technique of mokume gane, which he uses to create pure yet complex lines. Each object is created based on a concept, an idea, and each of his pieces is in symbiosis with the body.
