Christine Larochelle
Following her training in jewelry at the École de joaillerie de Montréal, from which she graduated in 1990, Christine Larochelle dedicates most of her time designing and making one-of-a-kind jewelry and limited editions. She has been teaching at the ÉJM since 1998. For Christine, playing with materials and bringing her vision to life is a unique experience each time, which allows her to experience immediacy. In the same way, living with an object, touching it, wearing it or looking at it, is sharing the artist’s vision and actualizing it according to one’ s perceptions and emotions, and these are the fundamental values that she passes on to her students. Christine was selected to participate in many prestigious exhibitions throughout Canada, Europe and the United-States, in both galleries and museums, and she was awarded with several research grants from the Canada and Quebec Art Councils. Her jewellery is part of both the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée National des beaux-arts du Québec’s public collections, as well as in many publications including Lark Books “500 Silver Jewelry Designs”.
