From April 26th to May 19th, the Multi level jewellery and Mastering Courses students exhibited their pieces created during their training at the school. This annual event showcases the creativity of our students of all ages and backgrounds.
More than 200 students and professionals from our training programs were invited to submit one or two pieces representative of their creative universe, their knowledge and their know-how acquired during their studies here at the Montreal School of Jewellery. The pieces on display were all created between the summer of 2020 and the winter of 2022, as part of the Multi level jewellery program and/or Mastering Courses in specialized techniques.
This year, the jury in charge of evaluating the works was composed of Francesc Peich, Teacher of our school, Catherine Lachapelle, Programming and Purchasing Officer and Stéphane Blackburn, Director. The jury was mandated to determine the selection of the awards of excellence, which are given to the students who have distinguished themselves the most. For the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories, one Grand Prize winner and two Honorable Mentions. The students received a free registration to a basic technical session and the two mentions, a registration to an advanced workshop worth $125. 6 student projects in the categories of Free Creation and Specialized Techniques will also be awarded a free registration to an Mastering Courses workshop worth $125 for the year 2022/2023.
We would like to congratulate all the students for the wonderful projects they have completed since the beginning of the pandemic. The jury was impressed by the quality of the proposals, the creative approaches as well as the technical qualities.
